3 Ingredient Black Forest Cake. Never knew such an easy cake could taste so yummy. Cake with a cool whip and cherry topping. You will be making it over and over again.
Ingredients
- 1 box (2 layer) chocolate cake mix baked according to package directions
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 large container cool whip topping thawed
- 1/2 cup shaved chocolate optional
Instructions
- Bake cake according to package directions.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Frost first layer of cake with thawed cool whip.
- Apply a thin layer of of cherry pie filling.
- Add the second cake and finish frosting with remaining cool whip. Pipe edges if desired.
- Apply rest of cherry pie filling to top of cake. Sprinkle shaved chocolate on top, if desired.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for serving later.
- Keep refrigerated.
This recipe can be substituted with strawberry or apple pie filling.
