The tragedy occurred on November 15, when relentless rain and severe weather conditions caused unstable mountainsides to give way. Mud, rocks, and debris swept across the highway, creating dangerous conditions for motorists and emergency responders.

Authorities confirmed the following recovery timeline:

• The first victim was recovered on Monday.
• A second victim was located on Wednesday.

Despite extensive search operations, officials later announced that efforts to locate the missing person had been suspended after rescue teams exhausted all reasonable search options.
