Cherry Pie Bars

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.

In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt and all-purpose flour.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.

Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.

Spread the cherry pie filling over the dough.

Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the cherry filling.

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk to make the glaze.

Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars.

Cut into squares and serve.
