chocolate pecan turtle clusters

info recipe:

  • cook time: 45 min
  • servings: 4
  • prep: easy

INGREDIENTS

70 pecans, halved
12 ounces caramels, melted
1 bag chocolate chips, melted

INSTRUCTIONS

Line a baking tray with parchment paper
Place the halved pecans in a ‘t’ shape, or a four corner method. Whichever way you set them out is going to work.
Just be sure to leave some room in-between the pecan pieces. This will be the base of your Turtle candies.
Unwrap or pour your caramels into a microwave safe bowl.
Add a tablespoon of milk to the bowl and begin melting in 30 second intervals, stirring between each one.
Continue until the caramels are all melted and smooth.
Using a tablespoon, spoon caramel over the pecan pieces. You can spoon a generous amount over each set of pecans.
Place the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl.
Add 1 tsp of milk to the bowl and melt on 30 second intervals. Stirring between each cycle.
Spoon the melted chocolate over the center of each pecan caramel setting. The chocolate will flow down the candy piece
If you still have chocolate left, continue to pour chocolate over the candies until the chocolate is all used.
Place the tray into the freezer to harden before serving. You could also leave them sit on the counter and harden that way.
