Dense Chocolatey Chocolate cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the eggs, then stir in the buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Slowly stir in the hot coffee and mix until the batter is smooth and well blended.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan and frosting as desired.
