Honey BBQ Wings & Mac and Cheese!

Ingredients for the Wings:

  • 2 lbs of chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Ingredients for the Mac and Cheese:

  • 1 lb of elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions for the Wings:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss the chicken wings in the flour mixture to coat evenly.
  4. Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until crispy and cooked through.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, BBQ sauce, and olive oil. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is heated through.
  6. Remove the wings from the oven and brush them with the honey BBQ sauce.
  7. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
  8. Serve the wings with the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.

Instructions for the Mac and Cheese:

  1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture becomes a paste.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.
  7. Transfer the mac and cheese to a serving dish and serve immediately.
