Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Beef
- Place the beef slices between two pieces of plastic wrap and gently pound with a meat mallet until about 1/8-inch thick.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour with salt and pepper. Dredge each beef slice in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
Step 2: Cook Onions and Garlic
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the onion and garlic from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Brown the Beef
- In the same pan, brown the beef slices on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
- Return the onion and garlic to the pan and add beef broth.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
Step 4: Assemble the Rollups
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay a slice of provolone cheese on top of each beef slice.
- Roll up the beef slices and secure each one with a toothpick.
Step 5: Bake
Serve hot and enjoy!
Place the beef rollups on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
