- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, melted butter, egg, and milk.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a doughnut pan.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use a doughnut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out the doughnuts.
- Place the doughnuts in the prepared pan and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the doughnuts are baking, prepare the salted caramel by heating the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar turns a golden brown color.
- Remove the pan from heat and add in the butter and heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Stir in the sea salt.
- Allow the doughnuts to cool slightly before drizzling with the salted caramel.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
