Cream Filling:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Chocolate Glaze:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini donut pan.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Carefully spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each well about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the cream filling, whisk together the cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Once the donuts are cooled, use a small knife or pastry bag to fill the center of each donut with the cream filling.
- To make the chocolate glaze, melt the chocolate chips and cream together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Dip the top of each donut into the chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Let the donuts sit for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate glaze is set.
